Freya Ruuskanen

Freya has recently graduated with a bachelor's performance degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying cello with Robert Irvine.

Alongside classical performance, Freya has particularly enjoyed performing on stage with pop artists including Emeli Sandé and Natasha Bedingfield.

Freya also has a passion for accessible education for young people and thoroughly enjoys being a Lead Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation. She is very enthused by creating fun and open spaces for young people where they can express themselves and grow.

Highlights of her orchestral experience was performing Strauss' ‘An Alpine Symphony’ as part of a side-by-side project with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Freya was Principal Cellist at the 2023 Mediterranean Opera Studio Festival in Sicily.
